New office IT setup in Qatar: procurement to handover

CodeBlue Technologies ·

Plan a new office as one connected project: internet, cabling, network, security, user devices, communication and handover. Agree dependencies and responsibilities before ordering equipment. The move-in date alone does not determine when services or installation access will be ready.

Confirm site readiness

Check building access, landlord approvals, rack space, power, cooling and cable routes. Coordinate service-provider lead times with fit-out work. Identify staff seating, meeting rooms, printers, access control and any cameras before finalising the bill of quantities. Changes after installation can create avoidable rework.

Buy a documented outcome

Ask the proposal to distinguish supply, installation, configuration and recurring charges. Agree network testing, user readiness and responsibility for email or data migration. Handover should include equipment details, configuration records, warranty references and a secure transfer of administrative access. Keep support after opening separate and explicit.
